Crossways was built in the 1820s and, as it is Grade II listed building, we are unable to make alterations that allow wheelchair access.
There is a 91cm wide gate on the pavement entrance to Crossways. There are eight steps leading up to the main entrance or upper ground level. These steps vary in height from 18 to 22cm, but they are all 30cm deep. The front door is 97cm wide.
Room One is on the ground floor (upper ground level). It has a door width of 77cm. The breakfast room has a door width of 75cm. The minimum table height is 64cm.
The remaining rooms are up at least one further flight of stairs, 20 in total, with a landing; the steps are 88cm wide, 25cm deep and 16 cm high. Room six is at the top of the building up three flights of stairs. All internal staircases are carpeted and have rails.
There is a step up to the entrance of Room 6 and a low doorway. We offer showers in the three en-suite rooms and in the shared bathroom, all of which are walk-in. The shower base in each is around 20cm high. The shared bathroom has two steps up to a 56cm wide doorway.
We are happy to assist with luggage as far as we are able. You are welcome to leave luggage with us for a limited time after checkout if you need.
Smoking, Pets and Allergies
We are a strictly non-smoking guest house throughout the property inside and out.
We are unable to accept pets, although we are happy to welcome assistance dogs. We cannot accept cats because of allergies in the family.
Our bedding and linen is pure cotton and should be allergy-free. We are happy, where possible, to move bedroom furniture.
All printed materials can be made available in large print and we are working to produce materials in Braille and audio formats.
We will, of course, aim to make all guests welcome, so please contact us in advance should you need particular arrangements to be made. Similarly, please let us know in advance of any special dietary requirements.
